If you’re planning to take some time off over the holidays, why not take a motorcycle road trip? There’s something extra adventurous about embarking on an overnight getaway on your motorcycle. We all know the importance of ensuring our bikes are properly serviced and safe before starting a longer trip. However, there are some additional details that often get ignored and in doing so can put a damper on your fun. Here are some reminders to consider in advance of your next overnighter.

Comfort First

Depending on how much time you have in advance, it’s a great idea to strengthen the muscles most used when riding your motorcycle before a long trip. Focus on building up your biceps, shoulders, chest, thighs and back strength with weights or resistance training. (It may sound like overkill, but you’ll find that it’s worth it.) Use multiple smaller bags rather than one big one. This allows you to pack in categories and avoid sifting through a giant bag to try and find necessary items in a hurry. Also, make sure the items you might need during your rest stop are at the top of your bag or in a side pocket.
